The key to providing learning and leadership experiences for Plymouth students can be found in the variety of extracurricular programs available throughout their school years. By the age of fourth grade, students will have an opportunity to get involved in clubs, academic and athletic teams. These activities keep students healthy and socially involved, preparing them for a thriving future. Some of the championship opportunities Plymouth schools have provided for its students to experience:
• Plymouth’s boy’s basketball team has won the state championship twice, finished runner-up once, and has had two Trester Award winners
• Plymouth’s girl’s basketball team has won the state championship once, finished runner-up once, and has had two Trester Award winners
• Plymouth’s football team has won the state championship once
• Plymouth’s cross country team finished second in the state and had the overall champion
• Plymouth’s volleyball team finished second in the state twice
• Plymouth’s baseball team was a state runner-up
• Plymouth’s track, swimming, tennis, and wrestling teams have consistently produced state finalists and state championship athletes
• In 2009-2010, more of Plymouth’s athletes were named all-conference academic than any other team in the NLC
• Plymouth’s Business Professionals consistently have individual state champions and national finalists - this year they won a national champion
• Plymouth’s music department has won the ISSMA Banner for all around involvement many years in a row
• Plymouth’s Winter Ensemble won the ISSMA State Championship this year
• Plymouth’s Speech Team has won 12 state championships, regularly has state and national champions, and has won the School of Excellence Award seven times
• Lincoln Junior High’s English Academic Team won the state championship
